El Shaddai

This song was written by Michael Card in early 1980s (I think in 1982), and it was sung by Amy Grant. This song placed Amy Grant on top 10 Christian Billboard, the song won the "song of the year," and Card was named the "writer of the year" at the Dove Award the following year ('83'). Later (in 2001), this song was named as the song of the century by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The title El Shaddai is in Hebrew language and it means "God Almighty." Most of its chorus part is in Hebrew and it includes phrases such as "El-Elyon Na Adonai" and "Erkamka Na Adonai." The first (El-Elyon Na Adonai) means "God most high" and "O Lord" whereas the second (Erkamka Na Adonai) means "I love you O Lord." YAY!
